Building Leaders. Growing Community.
The Leadership Tigard Class of 2017 has chosen to help bring Project Homeless Connect to Tigard as our class project.
Project Homeless Connect is a one-day, one stop model that aims to:
- Engage the community to be a part of the effort to end homelessness,
- Connect homeless and at-risk individuals with needed services in a “one-stop” model, and
- Demonstrate broad community support to those experiencing homelessness and to provide human connections to people who feel and are typically alienated.
We are working with Kim Marshall, the director of Washington County’s Project Homeless Connect event in Hillsboro, to create Project Homeless Connect – Tigard.
We believe hosting Project Homeless Connect – Tigard this fall can make a difference to many local individuals and families who are struggling.
Our goal is to make sure that every person experiencing homelessness knows their community cares and no one is alone. To meet that goal, we need your support to raise $5,000.
The City Council has given us a fundraising challenge: They will match every dollar we raise – up to $2,500. So every dollar you donate will go twice as far!
Your donations to Project Homeless Connect – Tigard will go directly to targeted services designed to help our participants move forward. Services like dental exams, haircuts, food for participants, room rental and a project coordinator.
Will you give today, and help us touch even more lives?
Online donations can be made through our Project Homeless Connect’s partner and fiscal agency, the Sonrise Church of Hillsboro. On the donations website, choose Project Homeless Connect from the Funds dropdown menu and indicate how much you would like to give. Remember: every dollar counts and all donations are tax deductible.
Thank you in advance for your donations, and for believing that all people have value – even if they don’t have a home.
